- Synopsis:
Reports and stories about the expeditions that gave rise to the documentary series Parques do Brasil, on display on the TV Brasil since 2018. The story begins in 2012, when the two main authors of the series carried out a quick expedition to the Itatiaia National Park and the Ilha Grande State Park, with the objective of testing a piece of equipment that would make the production of aerial images cheaper and radically modify the production of this type of image in natural environments: the drone. Five types of drone were tested, including a mini helicopter, which caused emotion when flying over the altitude fields in Itatiaia. The battery lasted five minutes and the vehicle did not have an image stabilizer. The series was still just an idea, but it would soon become a project. The first expedition that generated images for the series took place in the Chapada Diamantina National Park, between August 15th and 19th 2014. From that period until 2019, the production team of the series carried out expeditions in twenty protected areas, recording the ecosystems natural resources and the biodiversity of the National Parks of Emas, Serra da Canastra, Sempre Vivas, Itatiaia, Serra dos Órgãos, Serra do Bodoquena, Chapada dos Guimarães, Boa Nova, Serra das Lontras, Pau Brasil, Descobrimento, Iguaçu, Jaú, Restinga de Jurubatiba and the Pantanal Matogrossense; the Taiamã and Serra das Araras Ecological Stations; and, the biological Reserves of Sooretama and Una. The recorded material made it possible to edit 17 episodes with stories and information about more than 300 species of plants and animals, including jaguars, black urchins, muriquis, kapok, wild dogs, among many others.
